La Cesta Punta

The pelota is a sport stemming from the real tennis practised in the southwest France, in particular in the basque country and in the South of Gascony. From the naked hand to the pala and the pelota basket (chistera), this sport includes many specialties. It is in the half of the 18th century that the pelota enters in the history. From the end of June till end of August, every Tuesday and Thursday at 8:00 pm at the Jai Alai of Saint Jean de Luz, some of the best world’ s best professional players confront themselves during the international games.

The little train to the Rhune

Built in 1924, the small rack train suggests you to climbin 35 minutes the slopes of the Rhune in a 8 kph speed up to this mythical Summit of the Basque country.

The coastal Trail

The coastal trail allows you to link Bidart to Hendaye with the following concept: three media crossed (urban, mixed and natural), a direct view of the ocean and a path dedicated to the discovery and the interpretation. The trail passes on 25 kms with eight doors: Bidart, Guéthary, SJDL, Ciboure, Urrugne and 2 at Hendaye 2. Six stations of interpretation can process different themes such as surfing, the basques and the ocean, the coastal landscape, fishing, the Bay of Lacave/Ciboure, geology.
